We, Laurence and Peter, established Shore Surf School in the year 2000. Since then we both have been coaching on various levels from beginner to competition surfing, which has provided us with a vast amount of experience in all aspects of coaching and helped us both to obtain level 4 BSA coaching awards.
Our lessons and courses are tailored to suit individual needs and ability of our customers. Believing in personal service, we and our Shore Surf team will be taking care of you and ensure that you will experience a safe, relaxed and affordable introduction to surfing and the waves.
All our coaches are not only fully qualified lifeguards and surf instructors, but also experienced surfers themselves with vast amounts of local knowledge, which will benefit you on your unique surf experience with Shore Surf School.
The ideal environment to ‘learn to surf’
With St. Ives Bay being one of the most westerly regions of the British Isles, it allows a huge window for any swell being generated in the North Atlantic providing us with year round consistent surf. Combine this with the local knowledge of our team and our ability to take you on a Surf Safari with our Mobile unit and you are guaranteed the best waves and surf conditions available.
All equipment is included and of the finest quality. As we conduct courses year round, we provide wetsuits (incl.boots, hoods, gloves) suitable for all weather conditions. Shore Surf also has a wide range of different board choices to suit your surfing requirements.
CRB checks, Surf Life Saving and Surfing GB or International Surfing Association certification are a standard requirement of Shore Surf Schools policy. Our instructors have also attended Sports Coach UK courses in ‘Safeguarding Children’, ‘Disability in Sport’ and ‘Sports Nutrition’.
